In The Beginning...

Since we all know that then I have to tell you this post is my beginning. I want you know that starting this newsletter has been a labor of love.

I love to write.

I love sharing experiences.

I love being vulnerable (yes read that again).

I love sharing pieces of me with complete strangers online.

I love sharing pieces of me with my family & friends who know that I am who I post to be.

This is my GIFT TO YOU!

You’re an ELITE group of people I selected to read my thoughts first. I chose you because over the past 1 to 2 to 5 to 10+ years YOU HAVE SUPPORTED ME! I chose you because you helped encourage me to do this again. Many of you were lovers of my MississippiDawn Blog even when I changed it to Break of Dawn.

Let me share with you why I am going back to “Break of Dawn”….

In the beginning of my first blog Sean B was a huge fan of Michael Jackson. Hell he still is. One day I had a lot on my plate and I couldn’t figure out what to do first. I heard “Break of Dawn” by MJ blasting from Sean’s room and I was like, “BOY IF YOU DON’T CUT THAT OFF!” He turned it off and looked at me to say, “But it is you. It’s your name!” It amazes how each one of my children have taught me some of the most important lessons in life and SEAN B SCHOOLED ME THAT DAY!

So I decided yes that’s me, TURN THAT SHIT BACK UP, and that’s where “BREAK OF DAWN” began. I also realized that the pieces of my life I share online are ‘breaks’ so these are the breaks!!!!

I will share random things from time to time here. Yes I know some of you are lovers of “As The World Turns” IG stories, and I won’t stop doing them. It takes a lot to curate those posts and they are the only I curate for social media. I do a lot of research & fact checking before I post. Yes, that matters to me!

This space here is for what I am thinking. Mostly things I don’t want to share with the general public, but I need to get that shit out. This space is for you to connect with me during this recent shift in my life and I want you to have a piece of me that no one else gets.

In closing, my best friend/sister/confidant/motivator (Nikki) told me yesterday that GRATITUDE is my SUPER POWER! I have always expressed gratitude because I know that after all I’ve been through God didn’t have to let me live to see this day. In the beginning he created… In the beginning I began writing again….
